week 4

Another successful weekend! Thank you Aunt J. and Uncle D. for helping us again on Sunday!

This weekend, we stripped more wood-we have 4 doors finished and ready to be painted. Dad finished installing the power vent on the water heater. Cold water is on and we have a toilet! However, we noticed on Sunday that the toilet might be leaky, so we are going to get a new one to be on the safe side and prevent the floor from rotting. The hot and cold water lines have been installed up to the bathroom sink, in its new location, and dad also repaired a frozen pipe to the bathtub-this is the pipe that likely leaked and made a hole in the kitchen ceiling that was noticeable when I purchased the house. I was picking out paint colors for the bathroom and we washed walls in there-I think the bathroom will be the first completed room soon!

I helped dad wire the power vent for the water heater and the kitchen has outlets in place! Next weekend, drywall will be installed in the kitchen and get the outlets live.

Squirrel News: Dad put up that ladder outside, trimmed the tree branches in front of the house that the squirrels are using to hop onto the roof, and blocked a hole where the squirrels have been getting in. We thought there were no squirrels inside...but either there was one (who was hiding) or they are getting in using another hole. We now have a live trap in the attic to humanely catch and release the squirrel :) We named him/her "Nuts." And, I hope that is the only one inside!!
