doing big things!

We are getting big things done!! We are now down to the wire because a moving date is set for the Saturday morning and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Two weeks--and let me know if you want to help! :) All extra hands are welcome.

Thank you mom, dad, and Nate again. Also, thank you Aunt J. for helping out on Saturday and Uncle J. for letting us use your truck to haul some plywood home! And M., thanks for spending some time there helping me prime the columns!

Again, painting is never ending. We got the columns primed and 2 more doors finished that belong to my bedroom and the office closet. The bathroom closet was painted by Aunt J. and I primed and painted the shelves for it. The bathroom walls were also primed again since some of the old and hideous blue was still showing through.

I also did more touch ups in my bedroom and that room is completely finished once the light switch is installed and outlets replaced. I painted the second coat on the door frames and the threshold for my closet door. (I even moved some clothes in!)

A big project for my dad and brother this weekend was installing the underlayment for the bathroom floor and I ordered the vinyl from Lowe's which will be installed this week. Dad also installed two (heavy duty) wire shelves-one in my office closet and one in the hallway closet.

Dad also installed the counter tops in the kitchen and hot and cold water valves for the sink. He also prepared the sink base for the dishwasher. The water supply line to the dishwasher was attached and the electrical cord purchased. My pot rack was also hung from the ceiling in the kitchen.

Nate removed the front porch windows and made friends with another scrap metal guy. He took all the metal and the windows are gone, but since he was on foot, I don't know if he took them or not! At least someone did and a couple of the old doors.

Mom also worked on some register covers and stripped 100 year's worth of paint off them with a chemical stripper. Before we left Sunday night, the third coat of polyurethane was put on the steps--we now just have to prime and paint the risers.
