Thank you Aunt J. & Uncle D. for helping out on Saturday! Uncle J., thanks for picking up my fridge and helping get it into the house-it was so much appreciated! Mom & Dad-thanks a lot for putting so many hours in this weekend!
On Saturday, my ceiling in my bedroom was painted and more cracks were filled in on the walls! These plaster walls were in some need of TLC.
The plaster on the south wall of the kitchen was removed and wiring completed for that wall and into the dining room. New sheets of drywall were then hung in place! One soffit was built for the wall that will have the stove and refrigerator. Three can lights were also installed there. The second soffit, that will go over the sink and dishwasher, was framed and drywall just needs to be added.
The bathroom had a change this weekend, too. Awhile ago, I noticed that the upper walls consisted of painted over wallpaper because there was texture. This weekend, mom noticed the wallpaper was curling, so she peeled if off. I continued to peel some off on Sunday and uncovered many nail holes-surprise, surprise. The walls were being washed again to remove the glue and wallpaper backing. There was so much glue on it, it looked yellowish. Mom now thinks a tuscan yellow would look nice in the bathroom. I was already reconsidering the bathroom colors, so this may be a possibility.
My fridge was picked up and delivered-we had to unpack it outside, take the refrigerator doors off, and unscrew the outside doors to fit it inside! Way too much work but now I have a behemoth-sized fridge.
I now have two estimates from blind companies that have come and measured my windows. Those things are expensive! I have one more quote next week before I decide which windows are necessary for blinds and which type I want!
