Thank you Aunt J. and Uncle D. for helping us out on Saturday! And thank you Friend D. for helping out Sunday! Thanking my parents has become a daily ritual for me...but thanks again for all your hard work!
Before we could start Saturday morning, we put down paper to cover the newly finished floors and other protection boards to prevent dents. All of us got a lot of work done this weekend :) Saturday was spent filling in the holes on the wall in the dining room and living room (Jo did that!). Also, I filled in the cracks in the ceiling. Mom sanded the stairs.
Dad and Uncle D. created two footings in the basement. I will be putting two steal beams in the basement to support the floors. Unfortunately, they are sagging but I knew that when I bought the house. Since the concrete ground would have busted without the footings, dad had to dig a foot down into the ground, dig out the dirt, and fill it with concrete.
Sunday, the ceiling in the dining room was painted; we used the paint that goes on pale violet and dries white-nifty stuff. I put spackle in the cracks in the ceiling of the living room and that is now ready to paint this week. Debbie started priming the woodwork in the dining room and now I need to buy the color for it from Sherwin Williams.
I also bought a new toilet-I feel 100% better knowing that I will be the only one on it instead of many other people before me :) Dad hung another sheet of drywall in the bathroom and finished the wiring for the vanity light and exhaust fan. I am still trying to figure out my bedroom color...I wanted green, then it changed to a purple gray, then it changed to a blue gray. So many decisions!
Everything is coming along!! Thanks to my visitors for stopping by and checking out my house!
