Another great weekend! As always, I thank my parents for their dedication to this project :) Also, thank you brother for helping on your spring break!! Lastly, thank you Friends D. and T. for helping out on Saturday. We got a lot accomplished with your help~
My dad's biggest and most daunting task was completed: the kitchen ceiling has new drywall. He said he has been dreading it since day one and knew it would be a big accomplishment when it was finished! T. and my brother helped a lot raising the drywall just by being taller. The wiring in the kitchen ceiling for two lights was also put in. The dining room is now up to date on electric work as well.
The ceiling in the living room was painted before we left on Saturday and the wood trim in the living room and upstairs hallway was primed. I bought a "Sherwin Williams Color-to-go" sample that has enough paint for one wall-I knew I needed to try a color on my bedroom wall to see if I would like it. I did! It is "Storm Cloud" blue/gray and it will be my accent wall in the bedroom. It is dark and drastic but the other walls will be a lighter color in the same pallet. That room also gets a lot of sunlight, so it will not look as dark. (I cannot say my mom is a fan-she thinks it is too gray) Since it was cloudy and gray that day, I have seen the color at its darkest moment and didn't hate it :) and cannot wait to see it in bright sunshine!
We did not spend a lot of time at the house on Sunday. However, the walls in my bedroom were washed along with the closets upstairs and those are all ready to be primed and painted.
I filled in the cracks on the walls downstairs so next weekend we can start priming. I bought five gallons of KILZ primer on Sunday along with wood trim oil-based paint and the rest of my blue for my bedroom accent wall.
My kitchen cabinets are in at Green Valley Cabinets in Moline. I will have them delivered next week! I am still debating on kitchen counter top and I have finished purchasing my kitchen appliances! It is all coming together...
gorgeous paint color! i've been looking for a color like that for our office.
ReplyDeletealso, just scrolled down through all of your house pics and it is SUCH a cute/cool looking house! i want to see it in person!
