getting the smaller things done little by little

This past weekend we accomplished some good tasks. Thank you mom, dad, and Nate for your hard work and dedication (even watching the world cup game on the internet!).

Mom and I finally painted the walls on the stairs; the corners at the top will still need to be painted but they are hard to reach.

The biggest project was tiling the bathroom shower ceiling and top walls. It took a day of putting the tiles on with adhesive and another day to grout it. It looks awesome though and makes the shower look bigger-even though it already is a good size.

Sunday, we put up the towel bar, towel ring, bathroom mirror (that is awesome and tilts over the chair rail), and toilet paper holder. The bathroom is nearly done!!

This week some smaller tasks have already been accomplished. Dad tinkered with the pot rack and it is now perfectly hung where people shouldn't hit their heads on the hanging pots :) Way to use your engineering mind and think of a solution dad!

Two floor thresholds were put into place-from the bathroom vinyl to the hallway hardwood and then between the two different hardwood floors from the living room into the kitchen. I purchased raw oak transition strips and we stained them to soften the colors.

The shower rod was put up, as well as the shower curtain which will suffice for now. I really want a white textured shower curtain to complete my airy feeling in the bathroom.

We are getting the smaller tasks done little by little! I am still struggling to get into a routine with all of the newly acquired housework.

I am proud to say that I mowed my lawn for the first time last week and it was a success. However, I bought an electric mower awhile back--and it is more of a hassle than I wanted it to be. I will have to figure something out with that and maybe just get outlets put in on the outside of the house in a few spots.
