goodbye old...

We had a 6 person crew this weekend-much thanks to Mom, Dad, Nate, and friends Debbie & Terry. The kitchen is almost completely gutted-no more cabinets or brick! Goodbye old plumbing, icky carpet, and most of the bathroom fish theme is gone! Much of Saturday was spent on demolition and ripping up the carpet throughout the house. We also removed random hooks and screws (that were ALL over the house) and threw out other old junk-we found tupperware and more junk left behind.

Sunday, Mom, D., and I tore up the carpet staples and rubbed most of the carpet padding off the floors. The floors are very thin boards and some might have to be replaced. Nate did the staircase and I also did my master bedroom. The carpet in the orange bedroom had old vinyl under it-that also was torn up. Dad and Terry worked on plumbing and took out some cast iron and lead pipes. We are moving the toilet and bathroom sink for a more logical layout, so that was done as well.

All of our trash and junk was moved to the outdoor porch and ready for the dumpster next weekend.
