The new picture I purchased at a consignment shop to hang somewhere-either near my front door or hanging from a wall over the stairs that you would see going down the steps.
Not a great picture but window stops have been put up in the kitchen. Still have to decide how to get trim around it with the odd 2x4 blocks that are installed there from a previous owner.
Another good weekend~ I have told my parents that my goal is to get my home "presentable" for some housewarming parties :) This includes the little details that one may see while visiting my home.
I have some painting left to do and touch ups, in addition to some caulking. We have pieces of blue tape all over my home for reminders in areas to be touched up or caulked. This past weekend, the third coat of red/burgundy was applied to my front door. We are thinking/hoping one more coat does the trick!
My first under cabinet light works and they others were installed and just need to be hot. I even helped pull romex through the wall because I have such tiny arms and hands :)
Our big project this weekend was grouting the kitchen tile--to have it be more presentable, of course! The finished product is pictured above--and again I got this glass tile as a steal of a deal from Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Our only problem is the glass tile grooves collected some grout, so it isn't as clear as we wanted it to be. I will try to wipe as much of it off as I can but it will likely have a hazy look to it...We completed the project with six sheets left-which I have a project I will be using them for!
The laundry area was reorganized and put to work, including the sorter that I assembled! This upcoming weekend, dad is starting on tearing out the chimney in the attic. I noticed when I got home last night that he replaced some outlets in my living room, so all of them are new. He has decided to do smaller tasks during the week (which makes sense) like replacing outlets or doing some caulking jobs.
We will be getting another dumpster in a couple of weeks for the plaster in the purple room, bricks from the chimney in the attic, the wainscoting we ripped off in the purple room, and the front porch-when we tear that off.
