Ok, so another MIA month!! A lot of progress has been done in the attic and "purple room" with stripping and sanding woodwork. A lot of hard and tedious work that was important but would have been redundant pictures!
However, no more purple room from this day forward! We got my "guest bedroom"-as it will be referred to now-primed. So most of the purple is gone. The woodwork was already stripped so that purple is toast. We need to prime with Killz once more and then we will go forward with my green that I have selected :) I am so glad that eyesore of a room has now moved forward to better days.
Then, the woodwork will be painted a crisp white and we will install white wainscoting on the lower half of the walls. Those were in such bad shape, we are just putting up what we have already taken down. Don't get my father started about that!
In the attic-dad has been putting up drywall around the stairs to enclose them and installed a door at the top. That way, the cold air stays up in the attic instead of traveling down the stairs and into my upstairs hallway/living quarters. He also did some mudding of that drywall and I have a cabinet for storage to get me started in the attic. I started moving decorations and other things up there last weekend.
A couple of the above pictures are just some miscellaneous recent decorations. We hung a hooked word "dream" in my bedroom to hang necklaces on. I also bought a rug for downstairs. I have been looking at new couches and found one that I like but am waiting for the right time to buy!
